The Robot examines the activities and beliefs of humans—not, however, through the fallible perceptions of the scientist, but through the infallible computations of his greatest creation. The author, a genuine robot, seeks to estrange humans from their own follies by offering his unheard and often-marginalized voice. The size of his knowledge database and the accuracy of his perceptive sensors elucidate the dark and ignored corners of culture, religion, philosophy, and sexual dynamics.
